For good measure:
Monday past 28 May at around 2 pm, as I had a bit of time on hand I was
casing the Obs joint between Rochester and Milton Roads looking out for
anything suspicious, when a resident on Lytton Street phoned to say someone
had broken into the back of his property. Apparently, the perpetrator
climbed over a temporary gate that was put up in the passageway next to his
house. The perp then entered around to the back of the house and removed a
small window pane from the kitchen window. The house alarm subsequently
scared the perp off and was nowhere to be seen.. As the pane might hold a
perfect set of finger prints, I persuaded the resident to phone SAPS to
report the incident, but the resident could only do it a bit later on. I
notified OPS via the ONW 2 way radio but said that nothing much could be
done but to keep a watchful eye around..
However, the next day I got another phone call from the resident.. This
time they entered his yard again in broad daylight via the new temporary
passage door, and fished some kitchen items out from the open window panel
which was removed the previous day. He noted that he never phoned SAPS the
previous day.
Soooo, do not delay, report your incidences to SAPS, repair entry damages
soonest, take not who's lurking around your property or in the woods.
Be careful of neighbour's contract workers next door, they often spy on
your or other's homes, or check out your movements etc.
Take care
James
