This is an interesting phenomena - the blame myself game - especially
with the OBS qualifier.

I have payed it too. How far do we go before we start laying the blame
where the blame should be laid? I am not sure where that is but it
starts from the top down I think with Mr Showerhead himself and the
failed government and the poor economic situation down to the lack of
policing and corruption and the highest levels in the Police and
governments.

I think ourselves are low down on the list.

After all I think we have stopped laying the blame for rape on the
rape victim so why do we blame ourselves first. I think we agree that
rape is never the victims fault so why are you at fault and to blame
for leaving your table unattended for 5 minutes. I blame some
degenerate criminal not you. You were not asking for your table to be
stolen despite what you and others may think.

I think we need to change our mind sets a bit. We are not to blame for
crime - unless we let people get away with it by not reporting it and
following up. Yes we know that there is a likely hood of stuff going
missing in a minute and we should probably be more careful - but to
blame ourselves for the crime when it goes missing?

Just some thoughts.
