My annoyance is not so much the damage to my car, but rather the manner in which it occurred. Imagine my surprise when seeing a space in the traffic coming up the road that upon pulling off I immediately knocked into someone driving DOWN Station Rd. people driving the wrong way down the numerous one way roads is a source of consternation for me, as is speeding but the speeding is a different matter. While discussing the matter with the very friendly, calm and helpful SAPS guys that arrived less than a minute later, I think they were on patrol, we saw two cars drive down station road. Also a curior from Economic Motor Spares went down Station Rd and into Wesley where we were processing the incident. The courier was laughing as he did it and waving at the SAPS officers as he went through. I find this behavior disgusting and sadly prevalent in Obz. Would the cameras under discussion for security in Obz be able to multitask and keep an eye on this sort of behavior? Top of Bowden Rd, Eden to Wesley, Rochester and a bunch of other Hotspots? Captain FC Van Wyk said five armed men entered the premises of a business in Woodstock and demanded money from the owner and staff on Friday. “The suspects took the workers to the back of the premises and forced them to open one of the safes,” Van Wyk said. They forced workers to take out a substantial amount of money, two cellphones, and a laptop. The robbers also stole a white Toyota stallion LDV. They made their getaway in a white Honda Ballade, which was later seen by security guards on the corners of Drake and Anson streets, in Observatory. The three men in the vehicle ran away when they saw the security officers, but one of them was arrested. It was later established that the car was stolen in the Goodwood area earlier this month. The stolen Toyota Stallion LDV was later recovered abandoned in the Langa area. Van Wyk said the 35-year-old man arrested would appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of armed robbery and possession of suspected stolen property. The other men had not yet been arrested. - Sapa -- OPS [Obsid Public Safety] - 24/7 control room ---------------------------------------------- 021-447-1066 072-063-1653 For all emergencies please dial 10111 ---------------------------------------------- ONW: 082 081 0142, ONW email: [email protected] ---------------------------------------------- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups The Observatory Neighbourhood watch group.
