The ONW wishes Emile Young as the new Observatory Civic Association Chairperson the very best as from the OCA AGM held on Thursday as well as Marc Turok as the Deputy Chair, Mariagrazia Galimberti and Brian Amery as continuing their respective roles as Secretary and Treasurer. A great well done to Trevor Hughes who carried the business of the OCA and Chairmanship for three years.
I regretfully inform the ONW community, that I have resigned as the ONW Chairman on 17 October 2012 and is unfortunately due to lack of direct communication with the Woodstock Community Police Forum as a registered member of the Forum. Kindly note, I was due to stand down as Chairman at the forthcoming AGM on 31 October 2012 and was in order to make space for younger members to take up the lead. I apologise to the ONW and the Observatory community for the untimely resignation. The ONW Deputy Chair Reza Ajam is taking the ONW forward as Acting Chair, and continue up to the AGM to be held on 31 October 2012 at 7 pm, to be held at the Observatory Community Centre. Residents and business owners involvement in and with the ONW is very important in order for the ONW to be involved with the community on ground level. ONW fulfils an important function and carries integral relationships regarding aspects of safety and security into the meeting rooms with SAPS and many other local based organisations and structures within the community. Your attendance and participation at the AGM on 31st of October is thus paramount for the ONW to continue its task at hand.
