Yesterday afternoon a woman (30ish, coloured with dark curly hair) rang my
doorbell claiming to have just been mugged. She apparently lives somewhere
around Wesley/Milton road, and the incident happened there. She claimed she
was robbed of her cellphone and some cash, but not her house keys (and her
sunglasses were on her head) - and didn't appear rattled by the incident.
She wanted to use my phone to call a friend. I was a little wary, so
decided to offer my landline, dialled the number for her and handed her the
phone over the gate. When her friend answered, she mentioned nothing about
having been mugged, and merely asked what time they were coming through.
Any ideas as to whether this was legitimate, or whether a ploy to be
offered a cellphone which she would disappear with?
