Dear all It could either be a matter of the "pretend police" on the prowl again or even more serious…police involvement.
A lodger staying in Albert Road, Mowbray got the shock of his life on Saturday night when 3 guys ( no uniforms but some were dressed in track suit pants) entered the property and tried to forcefully unlock the security gate to the house for no apparent reason. They told him they have somebody at the station who allegedly lives in this house and the only way it can be proved is by entering the property and find proof thereof. Which could be total nonsense as there was only one person residing there at the time. But the "police" had some keys … Fortunately in their efforts to open the gate (which they managed to do) and then somehow locked it again – the lock was so badly damaged that apart from requiring replacement, it also prevented them from entering the property. The key used to open the gate, were taken by them as well. However, what is more worrying is that the young man spotted a police vehicle (sedan) branded MOWBRAY police…and the three guys trying to enter to property, were communicating via radio with the car. The lodger called Mowbray police station to enquire if any of their vehicles were indeed in the vicinity and he got nothing more than a vague 'possibly'. Be aware.
