Just before 6 pm this evening 9 February 2015, a neighbor contacted me to report that there was seemingly a theft of motor vehicle in progress in Scott Road near Lytton Street. While taking a long range photo I soon contacted Constable Berry the Sector 1 Manager at 17.53 who was on duty since 2 pm. He was however busy with another case in Station Road but indicated he would call for another SAPS vehicle to attend. I also alerted the OPS Control via my ONW Radio.
Upon closer inspection of the activity I took a better photograph of the situation, two men using a long wire and flat piece of metal to undo the car door, but soon came to realize that their key was locked inside the vehicle. A SAPS vehicle soon arrived and confirmed the incident and checked the registration of the vehicle as a non stolen vehicle. What was so good about the incident was the quick time attendance by Constable Adams, who was dispatched from Sector 4 area of Upper Woodstock in the midst of a busy Main Road peak hour traffic, but arrived on the spot in good time.
