Hi Jenny thank you for bringing this up, The Shelley Road Sport Fields a.k.a. Kipling Road Fields has indeed been a source of crime for many decennia.
Its difficult to estimate the crime factor but was thought at one stage to be between 15% to up to 30% at times. A worrying factor is that it's regarded as a no go area especially at night as violence is a pertinent factor. A 14 page confidential report was written years ago "SHELLY ROAD SPORTS FIELDS - The Challenges & Solutions. A holistic approach involving a dozen of organisations was recommended but never implemented as far as I'm aware. Maybe a matter of too much to be done between to few persons?
