It was alerted via WhatApp messages this morning concerning an abduction that took place during the early hours of this morning, Sunday 26 April 2015, in which a young man was found by a resident, injured in Lenz Lane, Observatory at 5 am. The OPS security was informed, an ambulance was called and SAPS subsequently cordoned off the area.
Constable Berry conveyed that the case is very sensitive, is under investigation, a case was opened - and the victim's privacy must be respected. Apparently, the victim was approached by three Colored females in front of the Station Road ATM and lured him towards a white Carola, with two Colored males, which soon stopped nearby. The two men then abducted the victim and later left him in an injured state in Lenz Lane. Constable Berry, the Woodstock Police Sector Manager for Observatory cautioned all, to be on the lookout for the white Carola. He urged to report any witnessing of the incident or concerning any related suspicions regarding this incident. He also warned that residents should be careful and alert at all times against opportunistic situations, walking alone late at night, to apply general safety measures within Obs residential areas, homes and business.
