There clearly needs to be local clarity on parking policy and many streets are too narrow to permit parking on both sides. I do think that while this car may be parked in the right direction it is clearly an obstruction to traffic flow in my opinion, particularly if its left for longer than a few minutes! We do need to find better quality secure parking but we are seeing more densification that brings more cars. Hi all, I hope I am alone in this but suspect that I am not. We went away for the weekend and returned this afternoon to find 2 fines on my car. One for R500 for parking the wrong way and another for R1800 for obstructing something. The something is not clear on the fine so is a little confusing. What truly baffles me is that my car was the ONLY car on the street parked facing the correct way and clearly not obstructing anything! No yellow line, no drive way, nothing! This us the second time that our cars have been fined for parking correctly and now the humor is gone. We will write to the officials about the fines but feel that the ticketing people do not actually know the rules of the road! If they cant issue tickets correctly on a weekend how can they stop the tide of taxis and vehicles driving the wrong way down one way streets etc?? Is this something the ward counselor can take to the city ? Cheers.
