Thanks for these comments about “the same man” with a knife and jumped over wall. The question about fighting a crazy person with a knife is usually not advisable but some may feel different. What strikes me about these two posts is that there is absolutely no description of the man (hight, build, hair, features, clothes, language , colour, shoes, style, possessions (bag, glasses etc). nor which way he left . The only thing that is mentioned is his aggressive manner “he wanted to attack”. How high is the wall? If its high that that mean he is tall? If he was tall, slender, very fit and runs fast, has short black hair, he could be the same man who attacked our domestic worker and stole her cell phone. he knocked her over the head with a brick or stone in his small black bag. I chased him by car but he must have slipped through the parking area next to the swimming pool and across Liesbeek parkway and when I got there he was already on the other side of the river, moving with amazing speed and agility. He spoke to our domestic in isixhosa saying “he cant do anything” (cant avoid hitting her) and she could not get away before he hit her. He got away even though OPPS and SAPs were called. the route was too difficult to follow.
We, OCA, ONW and OBSID are committed to urgently raise funds to fence the gap next to the swimming pool (A gate could be made with keys issued for those residents who want it.) We also want to get the fences along the railway secure and about 300 meters of flat wrap barbed wire should be quite effective to do the mountain side first. The subway on Wrensch under railway needs a secret camera to record all who use it and abuse it! The community most affected are encouraged to take on this project to raise a part of the funds required for each aspect of the two fencing upgrades. We will also attempt to match these funds raised with requests for businesses and from the future festival at the end of November and where possible, from funds that OCA may be able to afford closer to the time. Yesterday morning at 8.30 the man had jumped over the wall and was in the garden standing outside the cottage. They asked him to leave and he said he wanted money and became aggressive. They pressed the panic button and triggered the ADT alarm. ADT took 24 min to arrive but they had escorted him to the street door and he had reluctantly left. This happened in Strubens Road at the Lower Wrench end. I am away, so not sure if the horse box is still there? Does any one know who this person is or had a similar experience?
