I think it is up to the owners of their pets to offer whatever reward they think appropriate for the return of their lost pets. If pets are not kept within the confines of an owners property and go wandering around the neighbourhood unattended, as cats do, then one must expect them to go missing. I don’t have pets, and am not a fan of the neighbourhood cat as a regular visitor to my garden, killing birds etc. which I enjoy to watch. I don’t really think OBSID resources are the right platform this type of issue though, as their mandate is very specific to service a community as an extension of City of Cape Town. I seriously doubt the City would entertain the calls for a lost cat!
