A full reply follows but ... is there any chance you can make it to the meeting today? I know last time you mentioned family obligations &c. > There has been a lot of confusion in regards where to post stuff on > the boards. I think so far BetterChildNC has been the only one to do that (and also ... reporting his own posts). We might need to talk to him after we set clearer policies. Ricky got the message immediately and has been a good citizen posting in the off-topic forum (and actually having OK conversations in those threads, despite starting many of them with flamebait). I do think we need to separate "general" discussion about OUR occupation and occupations in general -- and especially need a "Partisan Politics" (alt: "Political Flamewars" or maybe "Politics", but the entire movement is political...) forum ("Everything Else" has quickly become the dumping grounds for this). > We have a request to add a Government/Incumbent Accountability forum. > What do you all think? We don't want to break things down /too/ specifically, and I'm not sure we want to encourage such posts in the first place (as much as I like Geoffrey). > Does the adding of forums have to go through other people (GA) or can > I add them as needed to keep the flow of the forums moving smoothly > with as little moving of threads as possible. Luckily I got consensus from the GA to let us moderate as we please (at least until we come up with a plan after seeing what issues arise). I think for now we're OK with adding forums as-needed. We'll probably want some policy on e.g. new WG forums to prevent the index from being cluttered with minor groups that never do anything. > I'd also like to suggest that the working groups use the notify button > so they get notified by email of new posts. Yeah, I want to expand the Faq as well and explain to prospective and current members of WGs that ... there is no such thing as "joining" a WG! The closest thing would be to sign up for notifications and participate. -- <Morty_md> My mind boggled. * tim_m shakes morty's mind, hoping for a different combination of letters <Morty_md> Sometimes my mind yahtzees instead.
