Thnx for that.

When I saw you got it from Oracle website I did also a search and found another document but then for 9i:

Yes I did. I went to Oracle's Linux site and found a document that walked
me through the process. This document is 10g and Linux based, but I think
they have others that may help you. Here is the one I used:

http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/smiley_rac10g_install.html

It's not perfect, but I correlated it with another document and managed to
get through. I've used these two documents to install or re-install about 5
times (it gets easier). Here is the other document:

Hi Pete,

Did you follow a guide of some sort for the installation?

Best Regards,

Marcel

I'm kind of new to this but I created a 2 node RAC on 10g. I have 2 separate instances running; one on each node. The only thing that is shared are the data files and the voting disk files.
There should be no shared ORACLE_HOME.

Hope this helps.

Pete

Hi,

I'm setting up a 2-node Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2.
But I have some problems with understanding how the shared Oracle_Home is being used.

For instance there is the *$ORACLE_HOME/oracm/admin/cmcfg.ora* file. The $ORACLE_HOME is on the SAN so the 2 nodes have access to this file. How will the settings then be done per node?

Is there a guide/tutorial/howto for installing Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2 with shared Oracle_Home's?

Or is it better to just install it without shared Oracle_Home's?

Best Regards,

Marcel
