Mounting by label with multiple paths works quite well in red Hat. All you need to do is create an /etc/fstab.order file with all of your devices listed. Check out this snippet from the mount manpage.
DUPLICATE LABELS mount includes support for systems where same partition is shared between different devices (e.g. multipath kernel drivers). In particular case when mounting device by LABEL, mount command reports problem with duplicate labels. You can define priority of devices in file /etc/fstab.order as simple list of devices (with full pathname for the devices). The devices listed in this file have greater priority than other devices. Devices in configuration file have descending priority. -Chris -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 07, 2007 1:27 AM To: Martin Norland Cc: ocfs2-users@oss.oracle.com Subject: RE: [Ocfs2-users] Problem installing CRS [OT] El mar, 06-03-2007 a las 21:32 -0500, Martin Norland escribió: > As for the label= mounting - I can't mount with labels because > powerpath presents each device multiple times, so multiple devices > always have that label. Yes, I've worked with ( not installed ) several storage systems ( IBM FastT, HP, EMC...) and will never understand why powerpath do the things in this way. I think that is really stupid and must have an important reason to present devices as it do, or emc technicians in my country doesn't know very good the product.
