Actually, the mount will fail. The clusterstack detects mismatches during the handshake.
The 1.3.9 tools corresponds with the file system that comes with the kernel. It was the best release at that time. However, software development is a constant process. We are adding new features and fixing bugs all the time. 1.3 and 1.5 are the version numbers we reserve for the mainline tree. 1.2 and 1.4 are reserved for the enterprise trees. As far as we are concerned, they are all stable. However, as we are adding new features in the mainline tree, you will run into issues. That is, despite our best efforts to test, test and test.
