It's a 2-node cluster. I rebooted one node, waited until it came up, and now I can create files on that volume: # dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=1M count=100 100+0 records in 100+0 records out 104857600 bytes (105 MB) copied, 2.08568 seconds, 50.3 MB/s This a production cluster.
