Database Administrator I The job holder designs, implements and maintains physical database structures and associated network and system configurations. S/he manages data using effective backup/restore/recovery/reorganization and data storage management procedures. S/he also collaborates on various database issues and assists with problem resolution. Minimum 1-2 years experience required. Job holder must have knowledge of and prior hands-on experience with database management structures (relational, hierarchical, distributed) and associated platforms. Must have experience with design, implementation and support of a specific database platform and understand associated maintenance and performance implications. Must also be familiar with basic syntax, rules and language for data manipulation and issues related to performance, capacity and security. Job holder must have knowledge of and prior hands-on experience with importing, exporting, back-up, recovery and migration of database contents.
