Database Administrator Under the supervision of the Director of Application and System Development, with broad scope for independent initiative and judgment, the Database Administrator performs tasks related to the development, implementation, maintenance, procedures, and functions using SQL Server 2000/2005/2008. As the Database Administrator, your duties will include: - Developing, designing, implementing, enhancing, maintaining and analyzing database systems, queries, and procedures. - Review and develop detailed system specifications and modify existing systems to accommodate changing business needs - Administer all databases housed by the Division of Informatics and Information Tech, ensure their security and be responsible for the timeliness and effectiveness of all backups. - Work with Business Reengineering and Quality Assurance and Control groups to ensure complete satisfaction of software by end users. - Research and recommend current and new technologies for use by staff. - Assures that confidential documents are properly handled. - Participate in agency wide required activities for emergency preparedness. Follow up on emergency or emergency preparedness as necessary promptly and accurately.
