Database Administrator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform SQL Server database administration tasks, including, but not
limited to: Create/manage database maintenance, backup and disaster
recovery processes, manage user/object security, create scripts to
maintain database object. Lead and make design decisions to create
simple, elegant and re-usable software components as a part of larger
enterprise applications. Develop system documentation for all
developed applications and databases, including flowcharts and data
models. Work collaboratively with team members and business partners
in defining, designing, developing and implementing technology
solutions to improve business functions. Work closely with development
team, project managers and executives to ensure the release of high
quality products. Translate customer requirements, recommend system
solutions, and formulate detailed specifications from which enterprise
applications are developed. Work closely with business partners to
produce quality products that meet business needs. Responsible for
providing input to the data architecture definition including
structure, interfaces, and distribution strategy to ensure that
business needs are supported in an integrated and value-added manner.
Ensure that standards for database performance, availability and
security are being met. Analyze database applications/queries and
implement improvements to optimize performance. Lead design and
implementation efforts of project teams and development efforts, which
includes the design and execution of acceptance test plans to ensure a
successful implementation. Responsible for suggesting, reviewing and
justifying new technical tools and techniques and managing their
implementation. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of
development and production environments. Provide tiered production
support including limited on-call and participate in design and
technical meetings. Track and report development progress and
performance on a regular basis.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Familiarity with web development utilizing ASP.Net, VB.Net, ASP, VB
Script, Javascript, HTML, XML, cascading stylesheets a plus. The
ability to function as a team player and lead team members in large
projects. Experience with other Microsoft languages and technologies,
including MSMQ, Biztalk, Sharepoint, Visual Studio Team System (VSTS)
and Team Foundation Server a plus. Solid understanding of SQL Server
locking, indexing and error handling. Demonstrated experience with how
to maximize SQL Server application scalability, performance,
recoverability, and maintainability. Solid understanding of various
schemas and their pros/cons: star schema, snowflake schema, 3rd normal
form, etc. Demonstrated experience supporting data warehouses.
Experience in creating reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
& Managing the SSRS Server . Experience with designing, developing,
and deploying SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
