Face to face may be required Must have LIMS experience *Required Skills : * * * · Ability to explain and articulate complex technical issues · Strong PL/SQL skills. · Must have excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. · Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. · Knowledge of VB/Java a big plus. · 5+ years experience with Oracle RDBMS 9i and/or 10g · Experience with developing LIMS systems and knowledge of genetics required · Strong PL/SQL development experience (SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views) · Database design experience with knowledge of data normalization, referential integrity, indexing and database sizing · Proficiency with query optimization · Experience with data modeling software such as Erwin or PowerDesigner · Experience developing scalable transactional systems · Strong written and verbal and communication skills · Develop and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, triggers and views using sound design principles. · Maintain Schema changes across different applications preferably using a model design tools. · Work with the development team to optimize database access within the applications. · Code testing and report of issues back to end users and vendor. *Project Description : * In this 3 month contract position you assist with the development and maintenance of an externally developed LIMS (laboratory information management system) written in VB and PL/SQL. You will be using your strong PL/SQL programming skills, database modeling skills and scientific knowledge in genetics to develop new functionality, troubleshoot, fix issues that encountered within the system. You will also communicate with users/operators of the system IS staff and the vendor that developed the system.
