Duration: 6 Months *Experience Required:* > pSeries and AIX experience > 5+ years of technical experience in current enterprise level server and storage design, networking, virtualization, configuration and capacity management (Windows, Solaris, EMC, Centera, Netapp, HP, Sun hardware). > 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical role as a team leader or lead engineer in a complex highly dynamic environment. > Demonstrated results in high performance teams. > BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business required. *Desired skills: * Linux AIX / UNIX internals IBM Systems Director w/ VM Control WebSphere Application Server WebSphere Process Server Veritas Cluster Server Deliverables Requested: > Coordinates solutions to clarify interdependencies among systems so that systems appear seamless to their users. > Designs infrastructure components for large, complex applications. > Provides specifications for technology infrastructure. > Contributes to technical specifications in RFPs and RFIs. > Provides comparative evaluations of competing technologies and products. > Reviews and recommends infrastructure technology suitable for use across multiple applications. > Plans for infrastructure evolution. > Implements technology infrastructure. > Applies and extends standardized methodology and tools to designing technology solutions. > Creates technical design documents using Microsoft Visio, such as application flows and other engineering documents. > Creates technical specifications and standards documentation. Skills Required: > Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks. > Must have great communication and analytical skills. > Team player > Able to understand new technical concepts and apply them. Optional Skills: > 2+ years experience in the acquisition and management of technology and technology professionals. > 2+ years demonstrated success in matrix managed and influence environments. > Knowledge of and experience with both legacy and current technical platforms and tools required. > Excellent communication, project management, consulting and customer service skills. > MBA or other relevant advanced degree. > Financial services or relevant industry experience (some combination of Insurance or financial services, automotive services, and/or travel services).
