Database Administrator RESPONSIBILITIES: This candidate will be required to ensure database servers are secure, reliable and conform to all user, company and regulatory requirements. The Database Administrator (DBA) will perform the following tasks in the development, testing and production environments: · Installing and managing all PostgreSQL (EnterpriseDB) and SQL Server databases using corporate or accepted standards. This also includes service pack deployments. Installing and deploying databases using pre- made scripts to upgrade and install databases. · Creating back-up plans · Testing disaster recovery scenarios · Creating data warehousing (SSIS) packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading This position will also be required to: · Answer questions regarding application design and functionality. · Assist with application support personnel in modifying or understanding data · Support and ensure application functionality including database integrity, data loading, data quality assurance and data export · Assist in documenting database structures and entity relationships QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field preferred. Coursework in software development and major programming languages is also preferred Candidates should also have 2+ years of experience as a DBA using PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL Server. 2+ years experience programming or network/system admin is preferred. Any programming knowledge is acceptable but structured query language knowledge (SQL) is also preferred.
