Thanks for the report. We're currently focusing on incorporating new functionality into OCRopus (mostly, a new line recognizer and fixes to the beam search).
We'll do bug fixing after that, leading up to the 0.4 release. If you want to supply a bug fix patch for this to the 0.3 branch of OCRopus, please submit it and we can incorporate it.
