ABBYY is pretty good, but IIRC their mobile OCR application was about
reading
business cards, i.e., much closer to desktop OCR than reading text
from pictures.

So, either way it will likely not be a "plug&play" solution. You 'll
probably need
to add the code for locating the text in the image and dewarping it
yourself.
If you can do that and since the part numbers have additional
constraints
(like only certain characters/digits can be in certain places, there
is typically
only one font, etc) you have large possibility of success.
(even with using ocropus or a home-made classifier instead of
expensive
closed-source products).
