In order to see whether there was some issue with my Mac OS build, I've tried building under Ubuntu 9.04. Starting with a completely clean install of Ubuntu under VMWare on Mac, I'm pleased to say that it builds using the instructions at http://code.google.com/p/ocropus/wiki/DevInstallhttp://code.google.com/p/ocropus/wiki/DevInstall
However I still get "terminate called after throwing an instance of 'char const*'" when running lines2fsts on output from every file that I have tried, including the one that I attached to Issue 160, and including testimages/1col-300.png and simple.png I guess that there might be a problem with running under VMWare, but, if these images are fine for others, it does look suspiciously like a clean machine can't build a running OCRopus. I'll have look in the morning at lowering the smp processor count. As a not-Linux dev, how would I go about building a debug version, running it under gbd, and getting a stack trace?
