It does seem that my debug version fails if I enable OpenMP, and my release version succeeds when I disable OpenMP. So its either the OpenMP implementation on Mac, or something in the way that you're using it. I'm using GCC 4.2 on Mac, and 4.3 on Ubuntu, so maybe there is a fix.
