The Kindle team is looking for an innovative, results-oriented
Software Development Engineer to work on challenging problems in
document conversion and layout analysis.  Our vision for Kindle is to
have every book, ever published, in any language, in print or out of
print, all available in less than 60 seconds anywhere in the world.
Amazon Kindle is a revolutionary reading device and one of the most
innovative and fast growing businesses at Amazon. This team designs,
develops, and produces software and systems that will enable reading
content on the Amazon Kindle reading device.

Job Requirements:
•    3+ years of experience in building production software
applications with focus on efficient back end components
•    1+ years experience in document imaging and layout analysis.
Preference will be for Ph.D. in document analysis, data mining, or
image processing
•    A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals and deftness
at object-oriented design and systems architecture
•    Mastery of the tools of the trade, including Java, C/C++ and
SQL.
•    Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-
technical cohorts
