The scanner may have up to 2400 dpi resolution, but all scanning
software I know allows you to scan at 300 dpi.  If you do have scans
at 2400 dpi, you can convert them to 300 dpi resolution with many
image processing programs, for example the ImageMagick "convert" or
"mogrify" commands.
