I know another project on Google Code which has hidden the source code
in a way so that the SVN tabs don't show up in the main UI.  The SVN
repository is still there if you know where to look, but it's not
included in the HTML views.  That might be something to look into.

Also, if you haven't done so already, a prominent README file in the
top level of the SVN tree which says "this tree is obsolete, see ___"
would help straighten out anyone who did end up in the wrong place.
