The current tip of the repository has pretty much the APIs and the framework
that we are going to stick with: some native code with lots of high level
code written in Python. The next major change in that regard will be when
we move to Python 3 (hopefully a long time from now).

There are still a number of refactorings of the C++ code, plus additional
functionality for layout analysis and recognition, that students have been
working on and that we will be integrating over the next few months.

My group isn't planning on releasing a Windows version, since nobody in our
group uses Windows and porting to Windows is a lot of work. Our focus in
terms of installs will be on better packaging of the Linux-installs. There
will likely be a virtual machine with everything preinstalled that you can
use also on Windows.
