f2c does not support automatic arrays; g77 does, as do most other f77 compilers (and all f90+). I'm fairly used to automatic arrays; however, if there is serious need to compile the package using f2c, I think I can transform the code to use external workspaces only, at the cost oflesser readability. I guess you're compilingon windows, right? I think there were also other F77 compilers for Windows freely available, like Watcom Fortran 77... (Btw. on my list of very-long-term TODOs is "try extending f2c to support automatic arrays") -- RNDr. Jaroslav Hajek computing expert Aeronautical Research and Test Institute (VZLU) Prague, Czech Republic url: www.highegg.matfyz.cz ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
