Hi Everyone,

I recently moved to Octave 3.01, and found that the nice quick easy
install of everything at once in octave-forge has been moved to package
installs, and octave-forge is not in the easy to install synaptic
repository. I tried to install the Optim package and I keep having
problems with configuring for .F90 code. Here is the error:

checking for Fortran flag to compile .F90 files... unknown
error: called from `pkg:configure_make' in
file /usr/local/share/octave/3.0.1/m/pkg/pkg.m near line 1232, column 2
octave:2>

I have installed gfortran using synaptic. I'm not quite sure what to do
to install this package.

Any hints?

Thanks,

Rob
