There is a short tutorial in the "doc" directory inside the "bim"  
package:

Of course the documentation could use some improvement, if you use  
these packages for your course and
produce some lecture notes that would be a very valuable contribution...

P.S. FPL depends on openDX, be sure to have it installed and in your  
path to be able to run the visualization section of the tutorial
