Dear all,

I'm getting the following error when trying to install any package:

--------------
octave:29> pkg install miscellaneous-1.0.9.tar.gz

warning: implicit conversion from matrix to string

octave:29>error: couldn't create installation directory /usr/share/octave/packa

ges/3.0/miscellaneous-1.0.9 : Permission denied

error: called from `pkg:copy_files' in file /usr/share/octave/3.0.5/m/pkg/pkg.m

near line 1425, column 7
--------------

I'm using Octave 3.0.5 via qtOctave 0.8.1 on Ubuntu 9.10 32bit. I've
installed the octave3.0-headers as suggested by Octave's FAQ, but this
doesn't help...

Could anyone suggest anything I could try to fix this?

Many thanks,

Greg
