Did you upload the files to the forum and afterwards download them? For 
some reason I keep getting the problem. I used

$ tar --version
tar (GNU tar) 1.23
Copyright (C) 2010 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later 
<http://gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html>.
This is free software: you are free to change and redistribute it.
There is NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law.

with the czf options on Debian unstable. I also tried generating, 
uploading and downloading the files on an old Solaris box with SunOS 
5.10. Still I get trailing garbage.
