I'm using the MinGW version of Octave 3.2.4 on Windows 7. My PC is a
Core 2 (64 bit) although I'm using the 32 bit version of octave 3.2.4.

Right now, if I want to plot something (say plot([1 2 3 4 5]) ),
gnuplot will launch the plot but the plot will immediately stop
responding (windows reports it as "not responding"). I can force it
to close but I won't be able to plot anything again until I restart
Octave.

I did not have this problem in version 3.2.3. I also dual boot Linux
and run the latest Octave on Ubuntu and it doesn't suffer from this
problem.

What do I need to do to get Octave in windows to start plotting again
without having to restart Octave for every new plot? Downgrading to
3.2.3 is not an acceptable option.
