When I download the current nan package and try to install it in Octave with
pkg install nan-2.4.1.tar.gz I get compilation errors related to mex files (copied below). All nan-2.x versions give similar kinds of errors. nan-1.0.9 compiles and runs fine. I'm running Octave 3.4.0 compiled from source (libraries and executables installed in home directory rather than in /usr ) in Debian unstable.
