Dear Jack octcdf does not work with octave version 3.2.x. To make octcdf work in in octave 3.2, it would require changes in octave and not in octcdf. Those changes have been made in the current stable release octave 3.4 (but not in the previous stable version).
It is generally preferable to write an email to the octave-forge mailing list (your question might interest others too), than to use personal email.
