That is interesting. I'm running octave 3.2.4 and image 1.0.12 on Debian  
stable (squeeze) for x86_64. Are you running 64-bits?

I just downloaded image 1.0.14 and "installed" it by using this command  
 from within octave:

pkg install image-1.0.14.tar.gz

After a lot of activity it finished and I retried my test case, but it  
still failed. I think it was still running the old image however, as the  
errors showed the /usr/share/octave/packages/3.2/image-1.0.12/imremap.m  
path as before.

How do you get the newer version in my user account to take precedence?
