this indeed also sounds like a good solution.

BTW I also noticed that the NaN package does not define 
a value for the "Autoload" field in its "DESCRIPTION".

Alois, would you mind adding "Autoload: no" to the "DESCRITION"
in the NaN toolbox? 
I think this shoud be the default for any package that overrides 
core functions.
