I do like this idea but it's not easy to implement (for the reasons that carlos has already mentioned). In my mind, what would be perfect would be something like CPAN (what should be Agora). There would be the core packages/modules which would be more tested, implementations of the main matlab toolboxes and with a compatible API. Then, there would be other packages/modules, organized in sections and maintained by their own authors. I thought the script was in docs/htdocs but I was wrong. But yes, this is the main reason it would be hard to implement such thing, we'd have to discuss it a new method to generate the documentation.
