Take a look into OdfPackage.java the following is causing your problem:

xmlReader.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/xmlns-uris";, true);
I would bet that you have a different Xerces than we have, as I can not
reproduce the problem. Any chance?
PS: We need to access the namespace as we are taking care of namespaces in our
typed DOM, we normalize even a <bruno:p> to <text:p> when bruno and text map to
the same namespace URI.
