The Document Foundation (TDF) is interested in this project and I assume Michael Stahl as a committer of both worlds might be the ambassador or at least make the connections. I personally would have had more time to finish my current work on source code generation to be able to re-generate & refactor ODFDOM, make the Simple API fork unnecessary and provide a final stable API, but the dialogue of yesterdays movie "Dr. Strange" was quite comforting: Dr. Strange: I am not ready. The Ancient One: No one ever is. We don't get to choose our time. So instead, I will take some time off, perhaps to start a company with an MVP on office document comparison.
