Summary: Gadget USB does not work on Zaurus CL-1000 Akita
Product: Openembedded
Version: OpenZaurus 3.5.4.x
Platform: ARM
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: Distributions

On the latest alpha 2 release of OpenEmbedded 3.5.4.1, it looks like there's a
sever bug which prevents
gadget usb from working on Akita. In fact, on the Zaurus side everything looks
rather good.
For example : if I modprobe g_serial, it loads pxa27x_udc and g_serial.
But the Zaurus doesn't get enumerated by the host PC. For example, if I plug it
in a Linux PC and that I
type "lsusb", it displays nothing. If I plug it in a MacOS X box, it is a bit
more eloquent, and it says :
USBF: 84608.340 AppleUSBOHCI[0x1a50000]::Found a transaction which
hasn't moved in 5
seconds on bus 59, timing out!
USBF: 84608.444 IOUSBDevice[0x306eb00]: Error (0xe00002ed) getting
device device descriptor
USBF: 84613.728 [0x1a9ae00] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble
enumerating a USB device that
has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 1 of hub @ location:
0x3b000000)
USBF: 84613.728 [0x1a9ae00] The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a
device.
So basically the problem is not related to either g_ether or g_serial : it
looks like it's indeed in
pxa27x_udc, where the device isn't enumerated properly.
I tried removing every other modules, and pluging in the AC adaptor. I killed
every processes on the
Zaurus and tried again, but it still wouldn't work.
