That doesn't really help with my problem which was that gpe-image builds were working ok for me until someone added gnutls-1.3.5 which changed the Texinfo dependency to 4.8 from some earlier version. Adding texinfo-native to packages and taking it out of ASSUME_PROVIDERS works well from my point of view because that's just one less thing people have to check to get a build working. If the guy who added gnutls v1.3.5 had done that, I wouldn't have had to spend an hour figuring out what the problem was. Someone else is sure to hit the same problem as well. Is there some downside? Longer buildtimes?
