Hi,

I apologize for the slow rate of progress on this. I *am* working on
this and have all of the .bb's for this complete. I'm still testing the
builds, however.

I have a quick question on directory and file structure... Right now,
I'm versioning all of the .bb files with a PN of X11R7.x_a.b.c.d. I've
seen this done this way, and I've also seen PN versions simply as
a.b.c.d where the .bb file prefixes the X11R7.x Is one of these
preferred over the other? I like the first, but if there is a reason to
go with the latter, I can change this.

I started with those X11R7.0_a.b.c.d versions when the a.b.c.d
versions were still available upstream, just to work around the missing
epoch support in bitbake.
Now that the upstream releases are always tagged with their X11R7
release number, I'd also prefer to use X11R7.x_a.b.c.d for all packages,
especially as I had to put some ugly python snippet into xorg-xlibs.inc
because of this.

Only possible problem (in case we don't wait for xproto_X11R7.2_7.0.7
or whatever comes next):
xproto_X11R7.0-7.0.4 --> xproto_X11R7.1-7.0.5 --> xproto_7.0.6
Should the latter be called xproto_X11R7.1-7.0.6 although 7.0.6 is not
part of the X11R7.1 release? Or X11R7.1-7.0.5+7.0.6?
(This is just an example.)

Also, my directory structure looks like this:
x11-apps
x11-data
...

I'd prefer xorg-... instead of x11-... or is there another modularized
X11 project with a similar directory structure?
Also, I'd prefer the singular forms as in the upstream directories
(x11-app, x11-driver, ...). A matter of personal preference - other
than that I like the layout much more than the current xproto, xserver,
xlibs and X apps in their own directories.

I found this is the closest merge of the existing SECTION definition and
the X11R7.x posting tree. Does anyone see a problem with this
structure? I haven't yet used rename operations within Monotone. Are
there any tricks I should know about?

Just keep in mind that monotone 0.25 doesn't know about directories,
so the renaming has to be done for every single file.
Koen proposed to wait with the renaming until we use monotone >0.26
(which can handle directories).

regards
Philipp
