Hi,

I asked for glibc 2.4 but I got 2.3.5-cvs20050627, I don't understand
dependencies yet. I traced bitbake to find out how it works and it shoulkd
look for glibc 2.4 I see it in packages, why does it not ues it?

It will help if you paste your local.conf, say which tree are you
using and for what target (machine) you are trying to build. Although
it should be obvious from looking at your local.conf, make explicit
which distro and version you choose too.

I am using FC5 as the host base, does all the packages come from debian or
are there and FC5 packages?

Host OS is not relevant for OE, as long as all packages listed in wiki
under GettingStarted are installed, and you are using correct bitbake
and monotone versions.

How do I set options for packages? I want to turn off nis, …. in glibc

To set such options, you would have to alter the .bb relevant to
glibc. Just remember that when you update thru monotone the file will
be overwritten. (please hit my head on the wall if I'm wrong)

Is there a patch I am missing to compile theis version of glinc?

Afaik, there is no patch. But there are some issues when using some
targets and distros.

Japa
