           Summary: Menu-Shortcuts (Alt+Letter) do not work
           Product: xserver-kdrive-fbdev
           Version: 6.6.1-7
          Platform: Sharp Zaurus
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: xserver-kdrive-fbdev
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

DISTRO = openzaurus-3.5.4.1 from .oz354x
kdrive version: 0.0cvs20050207-r11

*and*

DISTRO = openzaurus-unstable from .dev
kdrive version: 0.0+cvs20060312-r11

on MACHINE akita and c7x0

This may or may not be a bug in matchbox but I do not see a way to identify the
culprit.

Menu-shortcuts (Alt+Letter) don't work. Ie: Alt+s should open the "Settings"
menu in gpe-filemanager but it doesn't. This is true for all applications and
not limited to gpe-fm.

After fiddling with xmodmap _after_ matchbox is up and running, it works:

echo "add mod3 = Alt_L" | xmodmap -
*or*
echo "add mod5 = Alt_L" | xmodmap -

will enable menu-shortcuts. If you enter these lines into the xmodmap file in
/etc/X11 it *won't* help. But

echo "clear mod3" | xmodmap -

will once again enable menu-shortcuts.

It has nothing to do with the value of "mod3" or "mod5", but with changing the
value to something different than it was before.
