I'm trying to build gpe-image out of .dev, and I am getting jffs2 images that
seem to be missing quite a lot of packages--I notice the standard Unix
commands (busybox) are missing, /lib/modules/ is also missing. This has
happened more than once to me, and last time it did it appeared to be related
to a version of tar that was too new (there were errors in do_rootfs
extracting the control.tar.gz file from some .ipk packages). I'm not seeing
those anymore but the packages are still missing from the final image. I
downgraded tar and am running bitbake again. Last time I tried to flash and
boot the image but the startup process failed before X started.

Is this a known issue, is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks!
